Not too far from laying down the paint on our truck.
Want you all's opinion here. The body of the truck will be Massey Red. My question is this:
Should I A) Paint the body red and the top of the cab in Silver
( This was the original plan)
Or B) Just paint the whole truck red?
What do you think would look better?
This is on a 1965 C-10 Stepside.
A or B ??????

I would go with the silver and red. I thought I saw a mid 60's done like that on Overhaulin. Looked beautiful. That Massey Red is really dark right? Dark red and Silver is very nice. Maybe a black pinstripe to divide the two colors as well.

I think white on top looks best. There is a nice example of a 66 stepside that a new member here just posted. Take a look...

Dear Red;

I would leave the top in primer and paint
the rest red. It's dificult to paint over
red as it can 'bleed' through etc.

A grey primer will give you a good idea etc.

54TOW, Thanks for the link on the truck pic. That is one beautifull steppe! It is almost the exact color as Massey red too. However, the paint plans we had was just the top of the cab in Silver. Not the sides of the cab that were wite as shown in that picture. However, I could paint the top and sides Silver just as the one in the link was painted White. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm,,,,, desissions, desissons, desissions......!

Charcoal and red..very unique

Just remember not to paint red where you want silver. It will darken it almost like pewter. The lighter the base color the brighter the silver will be. Just as barn red under gold will give an antique look to the gold where as a white or silver base will make it more brassy.
