For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 615 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 615 | I recall buying this for a 55 chevy truck. I assumed a 2nd series which was my first mistake. I recently posted this on Ebay for a 55 1st series truck and someone emailed me saying in not a 55, 1st series hood emblem. Can someone identify this? www.keithlebo.com/55emblemfrnt.jpgThanks an Happy Holidays, Keith

The only difference is the background and Bowtie colors are reversed.

My 56 hood emblem looks just like the 57 (6 cylinder), and I think that's what you have, a 56 or 57 turned upside down. The only difference between the two that I can tell is on my '56 the bowtie is red, background black. The 57s I've seen are reversed, bowtie black, background red. If there is any difference in shape or attachment I can't tell from just lookin'. Would have to get out the micrometer. Sometimes, you can pick up a small bit of trivia here. | | |
