looking for ways to make my boat trailer last down here in the land of warm salt water. I rinse the snot out of it when I return home, however the damage is coming from the trailer sitting in the sun for 8 hours when boating and the salt just sitting in the frame.
My thought is to take my undercoating gun and body schutz guns and spray either a few layers of POR15 or undercoating into the frame rails. Do it heavy enough to coat the crap out of the inside of the frame rails.
Anyone else have a better idea. Thought of marine foaming the inside of the rails, however that would simply hold the salt tight up against the metal.
Scott

I dont think I have enough battery to prevent the trailer from rusting electrically.

I know about the Gulf of Mexico down here all to well. on my offshore boats all I would have was galvanized trailers, the springs and fasteners would still rust. maybe try spraying cavity wax inside the rails | | | | | Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 1,859 Grumpy old guy playing with trucks, cars, and boats | | Grumpy old guy playing with trucks, cars, and boats Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 1,859 | Isnt that the same as spraying POR15 or body schutz?
