I have a 49 3100 I have it sitting on a 79 el camino frame. would the 49 chevy rims fit now. thanks in advance | | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 | Maybe I don't understand your question. The stock rims from a '49 3100 are 6-lug type. Your '79 El Camino stuff is 5-lug.
You can buy custom wheels that would be similar to oringal, but the originals aren't going to fit without modifying either the wheels or the hubs.

I am not sure on this, but I think they had hub cap clips. Anyone know for sure? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 637 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 637 | Lugs on the wheels replaced clips on the '54 model year. | | | | | Joined: May 2003 Posts: 47 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2003 Posts: 47 | thanks a lot. would I be able to use the 1/2 ton chevrolet hubcaps on the early 50s passenger car | | |
