For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 28 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 28 | Would there be any problem swapping a 55.2 1/2T Chev front-end(which is good shape) into a 49 1/2T Chev(which is shot)? I-beam and leaf springs, etc. look similar, is width the same? Thanks. Oh, each is 6 lug. I know the shocks are different. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 | Do it better brakes and better availability of brake parts. Only thing to look for that I remember is the difference in the drag-link ends(from steering box to steering arm at wheel)
