HI.....we have an after market turn signal mounted to the steering column the chrome kind that are sold on Ebay and places like Classic Parts. The arm hits the top of the case and produces a rattle at a certain RPM. I need to take the top of the case off and enlarge the slot with a motor tool. When I remove the two screws will anything spring out like a "jack-in-the-box"?

BOOM... Just take it slow. Have you considered a small piece of foam or something to keep it from rattling. Just a thought.

Last week, I completely disassembled, cleaned, and repaired my original unit. Two wires had shorted out, the indicator light was burned out, and the unit had the beginnings of a bee hive inside. It's not very complicated. Nothing will spring apart when you take the cover off. However, if you disassemble the whole unit, there are two electrical contact plates inside which are separated by a spring. Mine did spring apart, but it was easy to figure out. My unit is back together, and all blinkers and flashers are working properly!

If anyone is interested I contacted Truck-Lite Company. Their customer service rep sent me data and schematics for the Sigflare900. I will post a link if it does not violate any copyright laws.
