What mileage should I expect if I decide to put in a stock 235 with the the original 3-spd transmission, 3.55 rear, and fairly tall tires 215-85/R16)? My truck is a 1950 Chev 3100.

The biggest boost to my mileage came from the addition of an HEI (follow Tony's instructions to build one out of a 250 big HEI for the cheapest way). | | |

When my odometer worked, my mileage varied between 12 and 17. I could never figure out why there was such a big discrepancy. I'm hoping that the HEI conversion will give me some more power too.
