| | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 9 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 9 | Hello, I just bought a 63 C-10 with 3 speed trans w/column shifter. I am having an intermitent problem shifting. It shifts fine sometimes, then sometimes does not want to go into gear, like I have no clutch. Tonight was the worst it has been, seemed to stay in gear with the clutch depressed. Then all of a sudden it was fine again. Is this a linkage problem or a clutch problem? Any help would be appreciated as I don't know alot yet about these manual transmissions.

It could have oil on the facings or is hanging up on the trans shaft. Like Woody says pull the lower cover & see if you can tell whats going on. Thats about the simplest model to put a clutch in as they come.

I also noticed the clutch doesn't really engage till the pedal is very close to the top. Do you think tightening the nut on the adjustment rod would help? Thanks.

Filled it up and haven't had a problem since! Can't get a cheaper fix than that.
