The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area The Electrical Bay Headlight Switch or ???

I'm troubleshooting the wiring in my 64 GMC. The headlight switch works for all four lights at the parking light position. Front and rear lights work for brakes and turn signals. When in full headlight on position, the rear lights stay on but nothing goes on up front. Tested the dimmer switch and only get a read on the blue wire. So can I conclude the headlight switch is the culprit?

If you're getting power to the dimmer it should'nt be the headlight switch. Headlight switch to dimmer - dimmer to high or low beams. Are you getting anything through the dimmer switch? Only power on one terminal no matter what position of dimmer? Sounds like maybe a bad dimmer switch.
