I'm not sure how common it is, but it also has a 2 piece driveshaft. My problem is I am swapping in a T-5, and am not sure if I can run a 2-piece with the slip yoke. Also if anyone has installed a t-5 in a 60's swb, how long was the driveshaft? I have the original 3.90 rear end. Thanks

If you wanna go to a one piece driveshaft,buy one from a wrecking yard that is too long. Then take it to a good machine shop and have it shortened and balanced. At the machine shop they should ba able,to tell you what measurement to take,so they can shorten it to the proper length.I went thru this when I converted my 55 from a four speed to a 700R4 automatic.Course my driveshaft was already too long as the 700R4 was longer than the 4 sp. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 469 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 469 | There's a good chance you can find one the right size at the salvage yard if you know how long it's needs to be. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 125 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 125 | Thanks for the replys!
