I am considering buying a Hollander Interchange Manual. I have a 55.1 truck. I see the manuals are in year ranges. But, if I get the 54-65 manual, I won't have the earlier stuff that fits, or will I? Can I get a new manual, or should I get an old one off ebay. What's the story please. Thanks - Scott

Most of these only cover the years indicated but they are a good investment in time and gas you will save trying to track down parts.i got picked 4 from a local salvage yard that went out of business i wouldnt trade them for a farm in texas

Since our trucks live at the edge of the coverage, Scott, I bit the bullet and purchased both the 1946-1956 Classic Car Parts Interchange Manual (Vol II) and the 1954-1966 Classic Car Parts Interchange Manuals Vol III (Parts A and B).

Pricy, but worth it to me even though I live in a place without salvage yards. Learning to read the darn things is a science in itself that I haven't completely mastered yet but the manuals have already helped me greatly in my search of overdrive tranny parts.

Now, if they would just put 'em on seachable CD's . . . I know, I know, I'm lazy

'Fraid not, Scott. Mine is a Borg Warner R10-R11 series. It's a planetary gearset in the tailshaft section of a standard three-speed tranny either muncie or saginaw for the chebbys (muncie in my case).
