How in the heck do I get the parking brake foot pedal catch to hold. This is the spring loaded plate that the pedal rod goes through and is held in place the a 'U' bolt.  I usta remember what to do but too many miles on me had dimmed more than my vision. Thanks for any help. Ted

It needs to be clean, free of grease, and the plate needs a sharp, not rounded edge where it is supposed to catch on the shaft.

Thanks for the feedback. I will take it apart this weekend and find out if there is wear on the edge. Is there a fix if the edge is not sharp? I don't remember seeing a replacement offered in any of the catalogs I have.
