Thanks D

I think it held 3 kerosene lamps that were used as a safety warning | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 100 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 100 | Thanks.
Any idea what the lamps looked like - and where I could get them? Might put it back on if I could get the original lamps.

May be some hanging around there. I saw some at a second-hand store a while ago. In general, They are about 5" diameter, have a dome shaped top, with a smaller dome in the middle, that's the burner, with a metal cap on the small dome. Cap is removed for use. Burned Kerosene. Always were painted dark red. Know any Orchard-ists? Some times they were used as Smudge-pots, when there was danger of frost in the orchards.

I'm in the UK (Scotland) so will search ebay to see if I can find any. If anyone has an ebay item number let me know.
Cheers D
