System is all stock with everything new from master cyl, lines, to wheel cylinders.
Should I start at right rear, then left rear, then right front and end at left front?
Can I put a hose on 1 wheel cylinder and into a container so I can stay at master cylinder and add fluid as it is pumped into the lines and wheel cylinders? Then when I get fluid out of the line, close the valve and go to the next wheel. When all 4 wheels and lines are basically full, I can rebleed with the typical 2 person operation? | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | The correct sequence for a '58 is as follows, LR-RR-LF-RF. I would advise gravity bleeding first over trying to pump it through.Do put the hose on and route into a jar, but just maintain the level as it goes down, don't pump. do that for all 4 wheels. The you can do the traditional bleeding, however, again, don't "pump" the pedal. The manual actually states to depress the pedal 1 full stoke, then let it return slowly. I used this method on mine, works great. In my work (I'm a professional mechanic), I find that sometimes, you can cavitate the fluid if the pedal is pumped. I have had trouble with guys who get agressive with the pedal. Do as the manual says, slow and easy.
