I'm not sure if this thread goes under auto body or general truck talk?
Anyway, I'm trying to find out what the standard issue hub caps were on the 1962 C10..? I have found scores of resourses but all of them have fell short for this particular year.. I found the issued hub caps from the early 50's all the way up and through the early 70's.. But for some reason the 61 and 62's are always skipped..
If anyone knows where I can find what stock hub caps are suppose to go onto these 62's I'd appreciate it.. Thanks..

'61 and '62 used a 2 year only cap, that's whay they haven't been re-popped yet.

By re-popped, I meant that they have not been reproduced in the aftermarket. Also, the caps for '61 and 62 were only used those 2 years. The '60 used the same caps as '57-'59, and the '63-'66 are the same. There just hasn't been enough demand in the aftermarket yet for them to do the '61-'62 cap, yet. I will point out, though, that there have been other 1 or 2 year only caps done in the past, like the '54-'55.1 and the '55.2-'56, but that is due to demand.

I get it.. thanks.. So what your say'n is that my lowely 62 doesn't rate the reproduction demand yet? Soon people will come over to my side.. They will see the errors of their ways..
Anyway, do you have a suggestion on what I can use instead since I can't get the real deals?
I don't even know what they're suppose to look like.. Never even seen a real picture with them hub caps on from the 60's..
I actually have 84 s10 hub caps on there now.. Mine are the pop on type.. I know some used clips..

Blue - I feel you on the oddball parts for your truck. I have a '61 and there is a lot of stuff that can be hard to find. I have some aftermarket rims on my truck. I used to have the rally style with the chrome trim rings...no hubcaps though...sigh...anyways...

Fort Knox, I'm surprised that there would be reproduction hubs for the later 63-66 and not the 61-62? They are definitely cool lookin years because of the rap around windshields.. No rhyme for reason on that one.. Guess we just gotta take our hits and be glad about it huh?

hey richie blue. i also have a 62 c-10, i have 74 caps on mine till i can hunt down the originals. i have 1 original but need 3 more. I love the 62's, thats the year thats hard to find, last year for some stuff first year for others. the only year for that grill etc. if you look in the owners manual or brochure you may see a pic of the original caps

Would love to obtain an owners manual.. Where can I get one of those gems??

blue - check on ebay you can find a lot of new reproductions or even origionals. i got lucky, mine came with the owners manual and a bunch of that type of stuff.

I've got stock steel wheels on my '62 Suburban, painted black, with '55 Chevy dog-dish hub caps in the center. It's a decent look...they have a band of bowties going around the center.
