I bought a pair a of supposedly '57 Chevy truck front leaf springs to replace the weak ones on my truck, and I'm having doubts looking at them.

It might be an optical illusion, but they don't appear to be the same as the ones on my truck. I was thinking they might be 3/4 ton or 1 ton springs, as I have a 1/2 ton.

Is there a positive way of identifying them? Length possibly?

I would post a picture but my camera recently went up in smoke.

The springs will be the same length, regardless of series. !/2 ton adn 3/4 ton are virtually identical, 1 ton as an extra leaf and a different spring clip configuartion.

Note at the bottom also shows lug torque specs as well.

Maybe the springs on the truck are just so fubar'd they don't even look the same.

I was hoping they weren't rear springs, so I'll have to measure them when I get home. Do you think GM measured eye-to-eye, or end to end?

I beleive it's measuerd eye-eye. The dimensions given are as installed.

Okay, that might explain my measurements if it's taken as installed. I believe they are one ton springs.

Eye-to-Eye (center-to-center) = 41 1/2"

Total Length (end-to-end) = 43 1/2"

Width = 2"

# of Leaves (including the little one at the bottom) = 7

# of Clamps = 3

Clamp style = strap that wraps around
