i would like to install a 60-61 hood on my 65 chevy. i have been informed that there is a lower latch issue. what would i need to do to get this to work - any other suprises i will need to be aware of? i might also want to put in a gmc grill as well, any other modifications needed there?

Yes,There is a longer stud for the lower latch needed.As long as you have the corect upper latch.The lower pice is the same althruogh 60 to 66.Its the stud that scews into the lower brcket that should be longer.Hopes this helps you out.Bruno.

I am a little confused. I have heard from others that there is a horizontal misalignment issue which prevents the hood matching with the bottom?

Concerning correspondence on the 60-61 hood on a 65 chevy.
I was on the 60-66 GMC site where there is a detailed outline on the hood difference and the application of a 62 hood on a 65 GMC. Although the issues of latch difference/latch mounting location differences / and latch pin differences are discussed I still find the exact blueprint vague, in addition he can only assume that there is no difference between GMC and chevy hoods since the chevy is not his specialty.
ideally i would like to know "exactly" how to proceede and what to expect so i could look for all the parts at one time.
i know i am in the minority as most people get-rid of the 60-61 hood in favor of the 62-66.
any ideas?
