I would need some help to identify my rear end to be able to get parts for it. What Year? What Car?
I drive it in my 55 1'st serie Pickup 1/2 Ton with a 350/350
GM, 12 Bolt Diff cap, 6 Lug Wheels, Diff casting 3896839, Brake pads are about 2 3/4 wide and the drumms have ribs
Hope that someone can help me with that because it's not easy to find someone in Germany to figure that out.

The finned drums came later, as did the wider brake friction.

Seals (the one that points to the transmission) depending if it is a 1975 K20 1/2 Ton or a 1976 K20 1/2 Ton.
If I order it wrong, it's always a hussle
Again the Diff cast number is 3896839 N
12 Bolt/6Bolt rear end
Could someone help me????? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 51 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 51 | I got my part's today, everything seems to fit (brakepads, Zylinder and Drums, though the new ones have a little shorter finns but the dimension are the same)just the gasket from the diff cover doesn't mach up. It has 12 holes but the form ist differnt.
How many different 12bolt cover are existing??
I ordert everything from a 1975 k10 1/2 Ton 350, means that my rear end came out of a differnt Truck/Car???? (mine has 30 splines axels)
I don't know if the diff seal / driveshaft will fit, have to take it apart on this weekend.

Passenger 12 bolt has a different case, and also never came in 6 lug. Here is a pic if the truck 12 bolt gasket shape. For comparison, this is the passenger car version. From what I can tell, the seals are the same for all years.
