Can anyone tell me if this is possible and what might be needed to make it happen? I have both and would like to use them together in a 50 AD but need your expert advice. Thanks, Chuck

It is possible. I've seen a bellhousing adapter plate, but can't tell you who makes it.

Langdons Stovebolt Engine Company.
You will also have to change the rear diff out to an open driveline.

I just had a 700R4 installed in my 52 3100 with a 235. Langdon's kit works but it is not flawless. The shop that did it for me had to get some offset bell housing guide pins to correct the runout and to align the tourque converter nose with the crank but that was really about it. I also had to have a later model rearend intalled as well since I used to have a torque tube. The shop also used Langdon's side mount engine mounts, but they did not fit very well. We had to use those because when they removed the original bell housing the original engine side mounts went with it. Langdon's side engine mounting plate that is suppose to bolt to the engine was too small for both sides, so the shop cut those off and made the correct ones and welded them to the mounts. Over all it is not too hard to do. I wanted overdrive that is why I went with the 700R4, when I spoke to Landon, he recommended the 200R4 becasue it was lighter but I had already purchased a 700R4. I also had to have a new floor pan made to accomodate the bell of the new tranny, but it is such a small hump it doesn't look any different than before. The truck runs great, and I now have overdrive for the highway. Yahoo!!!

Just wondering if a powerglide adapter and flexplate would get me to where I want to go. Not sure if the bell housing pattern is the same or if the starter would be the problem? Never looked at one close enough to know. I'm sure the Langdon kit is the way to go, just trying to think cheap! I know somone will enlighten me.

I don't believe Langdon's side mounts were ever designed for the 235. Check his online catalog to be sure. And I'm surprised to hear for the first time ever problems with his trans adapter.

I have purchased a plate from langdons also and have a 2004r that I am using with a 3:73 rear axle from a S10 as suggested by Tom Langdon. I posted this on another site Killbillet.com in the ratrod projects and got a very NEGTIVE responce from someone named PHAT. He went on and on about what JUNK langdon's stuff is and how he has removed 6 of the adapter plates because they break the flywheel(I think he meant flexplate)and the HEI he sells doesn't engage the oil pump correct and what ripoff Tom langdon is and a thief and on and on.I have not installed mine yet and have not read anything else bad about Langdons or his products.Only good things here and customers on his site and inliners.com site. Not sure what happened with this guy but he has a BIG problem with Langdons. Go to killbillet.com look under rat projects the posting is, my current project...48 GMC and check out the last few postings to see what I mean. He also said that tom had him removed from this site because of the bad things he has said and Langdons gives the site a lot of money so they did it!. I met Tom and he was very nice and helpful and seem to know his stuff!. I hope that PHAT did some thing to create his own problems and not what he says about Langdons.
Let me know if anyone else has had any problems with Langdon's products. Thanks Mel

Oh I remember that ruckus--must have been 5 or 6 years ago. Don't sound like Phat has changed his rant at all.
