Based on other responses, this is a minority report. Unless you are attempting to keep the vehicle stock for show reasons for instance, I believe in converting to 12v for the right reasons, and one of those would be not dumping a dime into a 6v generator. 12v. is easier to start in the winter, is more forgiving if you don't have all the connections clean, bright, and tight (like most of us), and you don't have to search around for 6v. accessories and light bulbs. The wiring on a 6v. is generally heavier than 12v., so you won't have to change that. Changing over is somewhat complicated, but maybe there is a 12v. conversion kit for you in the market place ?
