so i have a 52 3800 that was stripped of about everything i did put a 235 in it, there is no electrical, i would like to go 12volt with a 1 wire alternator, what else do i need? i know this is a rather large question but would like to hear this run and need to get the right belt for the pump to match the alt, etc etc etc, thanks for your patience, trying

I would suggest you get a wire harness and go from there.
You can get one from many suppliers and there was lots of talk on that subject here as far as vendors/cost & quality in the past weeks.
you can pick up a universal kit for a 1 wire alternator hook up that will serve your 52 with out much effort, and these new harnesses are layed out quite nice for the hobbiest, all the wires are marked there entire length they all pretty much have whatever size fuse panel you may be looking for as far as circuits go and what you are planning like stereo, power accecories and such.

i made my whole wiring kit from scratch on our 51. my time is worth less. i have a 16 position fuse panel and half a doz relays. i have a built in alarm, interior cab courtesy lights, overhead cab int lamps, running lights, extra tail and brake lamps and heated seats. blinkers, no electric windows or seats. many grounds. windshield squirter & electric wipers, a pusher fan. the harness is fairly easy to trouble shoot problems. you have to figure out what it is you want and draw your circuits out. I have a 3'' binder on all electrical systems of this truck.

learn to solder and use heat shrink tubing as well as a VOM.

You didn't make it clear whether you need a complete harness or just wiring for the alternator.

While I commend anyone who makes his own harness, the time and expense will probably make you wish you had bought a harness. You can get this harness from Hot Rod Wires for less than $200. I consider my time worth $50 an hour. There's no way I could put one together in less than 4 hours if I did happen to have all the correct sizes and colors of wire laying around.

I used this harness in my '56 and was very satisfied with it.
