Think the generator in my 48 1/2 ton is going. Sounds like a bunch of chickens under the hood at high RPMs and it gets really warm. Is it easy to rebuild it? Where can I find a rebuild kit or a rebuilt generator? Any idea what someone would charge to rebuild it?

Nobody has touched this so I'll give it a shot. You seem to live in a somewhat populated place in the USA. I would think if you used the yellow pages and "let your fingers do the walking" you would find a local shop to do the repair or they would point you in the right direction. If you want to repair it yourself then look to the vendors on this forum. They advertise here for a reason, they're selling what one needs to keep these trucks on the road. Good luck.
