Took my 1941 Chevy 1 1/2 ton out for a spin on the farm. Played slalom dodging all the hale bales! Lost track of time and ran out of gas. Oh well, it was a short walk to the shop for more. The old girl is coming along nicely. Lot's of mechanical work left, but who knows, maybe next year I will put her to work hauling hay with her more modern brothers and sisters. That's a great looking truck! Welcome to the Bolt. That had to been fun out riding in the field. Keep up the great work and put that truck to work. I hope it is next year.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the nice comments. I can't take the credit for the paint job, I had someone else do it. Paint brushes and spray cans are the best I can do. That said, I am OK with electrical and mechanical stuff.

If anyone wants the paint color, I have the PPG color number at home. I am traveling this week, but when I get back, I can post it for you.

I can't swear it is the same as Windsor Blue. We picked out a color Chevy called Export Blue. I found the color on a paint card from the '40's on the internet one day. It could be the same. It seems that most old trucks were black or green. (This one was green before her paint job.) I wanted something different and when I saw this color I knew this was it.

I really like the blue/black combo, It looks great! I guess knowing ones limitations is a good thing. I would not attempt painting my 41 either. Dave

That is one ince looking truck. I know how it is, I have run out of gas more'n once, and i tend to carry a gallon of gas in the bed now, just in case.

I usually run out of gas after I figger out, by lookin' at the gas gauge, that if I don't get with it, I ain't gonna go much further. So I head toward the station, only to pull of aside the road within shoutin' distance of the station.

How's that for poor plannin'?

Drivin' down a 2 lane country road in a stovebolt.....cowboy, it don't get no better than this!

Thanks for the compliment!

I am currently using a 2 gallon gas can and home made fuel lines to drive around the farm, while I am looking for a radiator shop to acid clean, and phosphate coat the gas tank. Hopefully I will find one in the next 1-2 weeks. Then it is time for some work on the clutch. One thing after another, huh?

Jon
