For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 5 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 5 | I'm trying to figure out how to wire up a set of autometers quad gauges to my 54. It has the engine, trans and wiring harness from a 91 silverado. So.... heres the issue. The 1991 cluster had a speedo buffer built into it. The impulse sender runs through the cluster/buffer to the ecm. The guys at autometer say to just forget the wiring to the computer and tap into the impulse senders wiring to get my speedo signal. I'll have a speedo, but I'm pretty sure that means my torque convertor wont lock-up. I'd rather not have a manual lock switch. A buddy suggested a later model chevy external buffer might work. Sorry its so long, just laying down the important stuff. Am I missing something? Thanks, Matt | | |
