Today I pick up an 84 gmc crew cab long box (not much of a stovebolt) my question is I have a 69 gmc 1 ton, the 84 has a rebuilt 454 (in super cond) what are the chances this motor will fit and if so how much trouble to do so, the 84 is a four wheel drive with a four speed my 69 is also a four speed.. but two wheel drive plus less stuff under the hood.. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | It'll fit just fine, GM offered the big block as an option for that year truck, although that one would have been a 396. You just need the correct motor mounts. Should bolt up the existing bellhousing and trans fine. Use the 454 flywheel, though, as the 454 is an external balance engine.
