The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area The Electrical Bay The Radio Bench Needing Info. Do I have enough room

I have a '51 3100 5 window and I'm rodding this out since some one before me chopped the top 3". I'm wanting to put a 12 volt AM-FM Cassette Radio in it, But before I buy this from Jim Carters, cat# FA140, I'm going to put a 12volt Wiper Motor in it along with the small block V8 Air Conditioning speaker grille hidden unit in it. Has anyone done this before? Am I going to have enough room with all this under my dash? The Radio doesn't come with speakers, so that will be extra and they will need to be located else where. Thanks for any help you can give me. Jim Carter is having 15% discount at the 4th Stovebolt reunion next weekend. Do you mean the RA140 ? I think there may be a posting of someone who installed an original radio with electric wipers and they were OK but I have also heard that they can be a problem. I can't imagine one of the new radios being in the way but I haven't done this myself. The originals had a large case which extended quite a ways into the dash.

Truckernix, Go ahead and delete this post, no need to have it. I'll find out after I get the wiper motor and A/C in on how much room I have to work with. I thought some one might know off hand but I guess I must be the first on this. Thanks for your help

I would like to leave it up if you don't mind, just in case someone responds. I think that you will find the case of the newer radio much smaller and not a problem at all.
