I didn't bother to check the operation of the wipers since this really didn't sound right to me. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this means the vacuum part of the pump is bad or does it need to be rebuilt or if it just needs some lubercation or what? Any info would be helpful. Thanks for the reply...All new copper lines and hoses hooked up to it, I'm not felling any air moving around it when I put my hand down there. Just wondered if maybe there was a way to lube it up and see if that quiets it...maybe just squirt a little 3 in 1 oil, (or something like it), into the vacuum intake, kind of like I've heard some people do to the wiper moter to lube it. Suggestions? | | |

Did you hook up a vacuum guage to the vacuum assist on the pump and get a reading? OR at least put your thumb/finger over the end of the line to see if you feel a vacuum? I am just Curious

Guess it needs the vacuum part repaired. Is that possible and can anyone advise how to do it? :confused: Thanks! | | |
#44704 11/23/2002 6:56 PM | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 | The pump has a diaphragm just for the vacuum end of the pump.(top end of the pump).It should be rebuildable /replaceable. I am not sure who offers a rebuild kit, You may have to get some reinforced material and make/cut a diaphragm or at least take it apart and inspect it. It COULD possibly have a stuck check-valve.
