I'm sure this topic has been cussed and discussed repeatedly, but I haven't got the answer to my question, so here goes.
I am going to start the rebuild on my 250 I6 next week end. I plan on cleaning up the ports a bit using the info on the Standard Abrasives web site as a guideline. I am using stock valves, a mild cam, V8 pistons, split exhaust manifold, and a stock intake modified to receive a Holley/Weber 5200 without any adapter. I've got a bunch of jets for the carb so I can get it tuned just so. Now here's my question; when I clean up the ports should I reshape the bolt bosses to a more streamlined shape, or leave them alone?
Thanks in advance for your help, and for those of you who pop off without being helpful, God will forgive you, but I may not!
