I was wondering if anyone knew how to tell if the transfer case is in neutral on these, will it just shake free like a tranny or... I bought one I have to tow bar home and there's no shift pattern indication on the stick for the transfer case. I've not had much experience with 4x4's so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but any help would much appreciated.

It doesn't matter if it is a standard or automatic, put the main transmission in gear/park and see if it will roll with the transfer case lever at each detent. It will only roll in neutral.

If it has lockout front hubs, those should be set to free as well before you tow it.
