Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 7 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 7 | I am just starting my custom rebuild of my 49 chevy 3600. I am going to put it on a 1988 S10 frame with a 1967 corvette 327. I would like a few tips if I can get it. 1) would a 54 fenders and grill fit my 49. If so would the org 49 hood still work? 2) where is the best place to order new sheet metal and parts? I check with LMC which seems high. Any help would be good thanks. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,026 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,026 | Welcome to the Bolt. It's always good to see another 3600 under construction. The fenders & grill will work. If I'm correct, I believe you'll have to use the hood from the 54 as well. You can check the swap section on this sight for sheet metal and possibally save a few $$$ as well. I know Jay in California & Jimbo would more than likely have what you need. Good luck with your project. Rob

Sounds like a good project you've got started. Did you prefer the '54 front over the '49 or was the sheetmetal in need of replacement anyway? Good luck & show us some pictures if time permits. | | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 275 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2007 Posts: 275 | Visit here EZ Swap Chassis 58 to a S-10 Frame I have just received the kit to adapt my 46 to a S-10 frame. The parts are very professional looking, and the trial fits that I have made so far are perfect. For the price, you can't beat it. Frank

I like the 54 front end better the grill has a modern look to it and I am planning on using a 2000? year stepside bed. I think the grill on the 54 look like the new chevy style grills. | | |
