I only have a casting number book for Chevy V8s LOL!!! These inline 6s are "new" to me! Along with this the throat diameter of the 216 carburetor is slightly smaller than the 235 and the carburetor mounting bolts are spaced further apart on the 235. There are sites for checking the casting numbers and I think this has been addressed a number of times. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,554 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,554 | Go to tech tips, look at identifying your truck then scrool down to engines, it's there. Where is the block casting number on a 216? At the upper right of the starter? | | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 388 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 388 | Follow the link to the Inliners site in this link. The block casting numbers move around. Some are near the starter, some are forward of the distributoe, some are foreard of the fuel pump. Do you have some pictures of your engine? Hoyt | | |
