as far as my hood goes i'm leaving the side panels off of it and wondering what to use to now latch the hood down? second ? is does anybody know where to get replacement sheetmetal at the rocker panels for a 1946 chevy 1/2 ton panel also same truck for the hood ?

Never tried to accomplish that but went and looked at mine. Maybe you could rig a steel rod though the hinge joint on side panels to slide like a barrel bolt into a drilled hole in the beltline. The holes wouldn't be visible until you opened the hood. As far as the replacement panels I made most of mine. Some panels can be found at old truck suppliers like Jim Carters/American/LMC?Dixie. Ray Stanley at Wheelwright Restorations could probably make if you can't find. By the way Welcome to the Bolt! Have fun and good luck
