What is the generally accepted last year of the Stovebolts?

This should stir up some discussion.

There is no generally accepted last year, but it certain that the stovebolt-six "cast-iron wonder" engine was introduced in 1929.

The last year is up for grabs and here are some characteristics to compare.

Here are some possible generations of stovebolt engines:
1929-1936 first generation
1937-1953 second generation
1954-1962 third generation

How about we throw some more confusion? Back in the late '50/early '60s, the V8 Chevies were called "Bent Stovebolts". So that would make the V8 trucks elegible to be called a "Stovebolt" ! grin

I plan to take on of the Cameo's over on Saturday. I think they will have me working too hard on Friday what with ferrying trucks for the Corral and parts for the swap meet on Friday.
