The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop stuck choke

Hey guys-

My choke "stuck" last night on the way home from the seller's place. I had to jam it open with a screw driver to get it to start.

Before I go out an find a new choke, and/or rebuild, I thought I'd ask everyone's opinion.

.....me personally, I'd be getting a new carb. That one looks pretty used up.

If you will loosen the three screws on the round black plastic choke cover(pass side), it will rotate to keep the choke blade open. It an auto choke, either hot air or electric,and its probably not hooked up correctly if at all. Brian

I tried that the night I drove it home. I tried pushing the shaft with my hand, but it wouldn't move at all.

I think I kinda agree with Bkndsdl1, the carb looks pretty used up, It doesn't even look like it fits the intake properly.
