So to be safe I ordered a drag link rebuild kit from Jim Carter. However, the new seats were ground very rough with noticeable pitting and they had a raised ring around the edge which prevents the balls from fully contacting the seat. They looked a lot worse than the originals. So I was wondering. How do you determine if the ball seats are excessively worn? And balls? And king pins? And spring shackles? Is it not a problem if replacement seats are rough? As far as wear goes they usually go egged shaped and sometimes have other visible signs of wear. | | |
