It started perfect and sat in my driveway for about 6 hours. I went to start it to put it away and nothing, turned the key and no electrical current, touched the starter pedal and no juice. I put a charger on the battery and got a full charge reading, checked grounds, positive leads (all new wiring) and finally put in a different battery. The truck would start but the amp meter was bouncing all over and the power was surging as soon as contact was made with the battery. The ignition switch did work as it should. Do you think there may be a problem with the cutout circut in the voltage regulator?? I have to do some testing toady and see if I can find anything, any ideads are appreciated | | | | | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 19 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 19 | Something running off the light switch is causing the problem, I pulled the ignition switch, no change and tests out fine, so I pulled the light switch and hooked up the ignition switch and it runs fine. Something in the lighting or stop light system is shorting. The light switch checks out fine. I did reset the gaps in the cut out but no issue. More searching tomorrow!! But at least it runs and can be moved under it's own power. I sure don't envy you being under the dash troubleshooting but ya gotta do what ya gotta due. The hardest part should be behind you now. Could be as easy as a bad/hung up brake switch. Good luck...
