I know alot of the catalogs have short shocks for our lowered trucks , mine being a 53 with a 57 rear axle on top of the spring. I, like many us on here, like to have normal part numbers, like a Monroe, that I can get at the local parts store should I need it. What are some of you guys running, or should I jsut buy them from patricks or something and not worry about the hassle? thanks, Hans

Just measure the length you need, and note the mounting type, then go to the Monroe website and find what you need:

yeah, I have looked at that pdf,lots of shocks...lots of shocks....I cuoldn't really find one that had the same mounting ,, right length as well as the same amount of freedom...but i guess as the shock gets shorter you will have a bit less available up and down movement. Seems as though some of the short shocks only have 4 or 5 inches of travel which seems a bit short for a truck that will be used as a truck on occasion. Maybe I should stick with a long shock and move the mount up and forward hair. Not much room to move up, but could manage i think
