Any one know how wide a S10 rear end is and if it will work in a 46 GMC?I am thinking about a mustang II front end kit from somewhere and a downer rear end and 5 speed transmition from a S10 if the width is close.I would like to make it a nice driver that looks good, but not a show truck, just a cruiser.

metal shaper....

my 2003 s-10 rear is 48 inches wide, backing plate to backing plate, and the leaf springs are 38.5 inches on center.

not sure about the width needed for your 46 gmc.

hope this helps.

got any pics of your ride ?

Something to keep in mind, S10 rears come in 2 widths, sepending on wheather it's 4x4 or 2wd. The 4x4 rear is wider.
