I am in the process of changing my '54 GMC pickup from a worn out Hydramatic to a 3 speed column shift. Everything is different, from the motor mounts, crossmember, bell housing, starter, etc. etc. I have spent days looking for the right parts at a local wrecking yard that has 6 or 7 AD trucks, seems like nothing is the same between the Hydra and stick stuff. I thought most would interchange but was I wrong. Frustration has become a way of life on this project. Even the intake manifold is different, I never thought minor differences would be such a cchallenge.
