Hey guys saw the post from a few years ago regarding the protection of your bolt. Does anyone have anything new to add or additional success/failures?

Old cars/trucks are hot in ATL to add 30" wheels to and I want to deter that from happening with my truck!

I've heard that you can use an old cell phone as a lo-jack. You wire the charger into the electrical system, and hide the phone up under the dash. When your car gets stolen, you tell the police the number of the phone, and the phone company should be able to triangulate it's position.(I forget which number you need - I think it's the smart card ID number)

The SIM card in a tri band phone would do this, but I think you would have to pay for service. I use TMobile tri band because the same number works here as well as all over Europe. However if the car was taken to an area with no signal, you would be SOL. Trucking companies use gps tracking in their trucks because trucks not only get stolen, drivers abandon them.

and a special switch (run thru a relay) that has to be switched B4 starting otherwise the horn (dual fiamms) BLAST OFF

I used a bosch 5 spade relay ... #1 form C std. automotive 5 post relay
WIRE::
1. large gauge wire (10) from BATTERY or STARTER LUG to (ammeter) or directly to the key switch - BATT. you have this already
2. START post of the key switch to #30 of the relay.
3. ACC of key switch to anything that provides power to a feature like the heater switch to #85 of relay. See note:
4. #86 of relay to GROUND.
5. 87a of relay to HORN.
6. #87 of relay to ''S'' POST of STARTER MOTOR
NOTE:
I installed another simple ''' STARTER'''' switch on the dash for the replacement of the heater switch. you could use your parking/headlight switch. this first click of the '''starter'''' switch closes the relay to connect #30 post to #87. thus directing the voltage to complete the starter circuit from the key switch to the ''S'' lug of the starter motor. If the switch is not clicked the voltage will automatically flow from the #30 power side 12volt to across the relay contacts to #87a. @87a is wired to your horn thus when the key is turned on to START the HORN BLOWS. Sorry I do not know yet how to wire to a foot or single contact ignition switch.

It's more fun to have the Horn or Siren inside the cab....They leave real quick!!

If I ever go to a 12V system I'll do what I've done for my bike: Hook up a quiet alarm that transmits to a pager. That way I can give 'em a nasty surprise while they're trying to figure out the starter pedal. I've always wanted to do that.
