the fisrt problem i'm having is finding a bracket for my powing steering pump. the block has two holes for the pump on the face by the timing chain cover. there are no holes on the heads and i took the stock exhaust manifold off and replced it with headers. i have no objection to throwing the alternator to the passenger side if you can figure out a way to mount it high using some sort of bracket that goes in to the header or shares witht the water pump bolts. the picture of the brackets are from a catalog that says they are for a 68 block but the arrow shows where the arm just bumps into the motor mount. this dosent seem to fit.what will work? i'm not into billet any thing and dont like those serpentine system. any ideas?

That PS pump bracket is just like the one's used on most all 67-68 Camaros, Impalas ETC. That bracket should work fine with the subframe.
It bolts to the two holes in the fromt of the block, then the arm bolts to the front top motor mount bolt.
Just use a 1/4' longer bolt in that hole.
My 1967 RS/SS has the same setup. You should not need to move the alternator either.

that makes a little more sense. but my motor mounts don't allow any area to bolt in another bracket.if it goes in between the block and the mount, wouldnt that tilt the engine a little funny? could i have the wrong motor mount? do tell!

I would say that you have the wrong motor mount. The ARM bolts to the outside on the motor mount. Go get a motor mount for a 1967 Camaro, There are two styles, one is short and wide, the other is tall and narrow. measure the mounting pad before you go to the parts house so you know which one to get.
You can get "lifetime" mounts from AutoZone for about $7.00 or so.

well it gets more complicated. the subframe is a 79. the bracket i think is a 68. take a look at the attached picture of my motor mount. can i still use this and get a different plate that bolts to the engine ?

You might have to change that mounting plate??
Go to the parts store and have them pull several mounts,
you might get lucky.
Look at this link.

try one for a 67-68 Chevy pickup w/ PS
