| | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 308 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 308 | Well, I did a seach but can't find it now but I wanted to let everybody know and also to say thanks to the two guys that posted a couple of tips on dolly removal and stand.
One guy post the plans on building a cab dolly and I printed them out and built one, it is vary sturdy and mobile, vary good plans easy to follow. The other guy posted the one man cab removal process and I modified his plans just a touch ( I use a 4x4 post and cut grooves where it meets the door opening so it wouldn't have a chance to slip) but it worked purfectly.
So anyway, thanks to both of you guys and if anybody is planning on removing there cab you should search for these two items the are most helpfull.

Did you use an engine crane to remove the cab?

Yes, I used the engine lift to hoist it off the frame, I put a center groove in the 4x4 then I strapped it down with a tie down strap, I probably went a little overboard with the saftey procedures but thought it might be better than going to the hospital or having the lift slip off the board and having additional body work to do.
