I had some keys made for the original ignition lock. A local locksmith made the key from the code on the cylinder and they work great. After searching the forums, I found that the reason the ignition has only one position is because there is a starter pedal on the floor. I will look for it tomarrow when I go to see if she'll start. Have new battery, plugs, oil, length of fuel line for auxilery fuel can, keys. Should be good. Hmmm. http://i311.photobucket.com/albums/kk474/seangardner38/KEY.jpg | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 829 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 829 | You will love learning how to press your starter button with your right heel, and pumping the gas pedal with your toe. Don't try it on a hill just yet, though. You will have a blast with this old truck. Good luck! | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 1,403 | 54TOW, I do it the other way-right heel on gas pedal and toes on starter pedal. Either way, good luck on your truck, Gardner! | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 829 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 829 | A sure sign It's been too long since I started the truck. | | | | Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,781 Master Gabster | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,781 | Watch for hornets and other beasties too! Take some fresh water, starting fluid, fresh piece of fuel line enough to go into a gas can for remote starts. Lots of brake fluid! A fire extinguisher for the unexpected and a camera! You may have to clean the ground terminals at both connection points. Squirt some oil in the plug holes and let it sit for several minutes while you are doing other maintenance items.. | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 28 Apprentice | Apprentice Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 28 | | | |
