I'm in the midst of putting a Dana 70HD in the rear of my 1950 1.5 ton Chevy. This rear axle doesn't appear to have any form of emergency/parking brake provisions built in. does anyone know if there was ever a transmission mounted parking brake made for the driveshaft output of an SM420 transmission?
Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Someone had put one in my 52 1 ton, and I have a spare, honestly I can't say I remember seeing an SM420 without a parking brake, but then again I don't look under the baby trucks much... Post a wanted add, and you'll have one pretty quick.
You may need to swap a number of parts on the back of the transmission, probably simplest to just swap the whole transmission, as they are usually pretty cheap.

I figured they were probably available but I wasn't having any luck just searching the internet. I saw that they were available behind Clark 5 speeds but didn't find anything for the SM420. Anyway, I'll post a Wanted ad,,, thanks again.

That was pretty much standard equipment for anything 1-ton or bigger, and I believe the 3/4 ton trucks also had that parking brake setup. There should be plenty of them out there somewhere. Jerry
