My brother and son are resto-rodding a '57 GMC and the portion of the cab around the top of the windshield is very rusted out both inside and outside. I found a '60-'63 cab that is very clean and solid in that same area but totally shot everywhere else. Since they have the similar wrap around windshields would anyone know if he could cut out the portion of the '60s cab to rebuild the '57? It's the front drip rail and the edge where the windshield rubber connects to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might move this question into the body and paint area. The people who are most likely able to help you are the ones who spend most there time in that part of the forum.

I'll agree with OldSub, Body and Paint section will get you more responces to this type question.
Now to put my $.02 in, I beleive that the windsheild shape is actually different in that area. I might be mistaken, but i beleive that paricular part has recently become available as a repair panel. Might be worth checking in to.

I doubt they're similar enough in shape to work, the eyebrows are quite different, the later roof has much less crown, and the windshields don't interchange, all you'd get would be small pieces to jigsaw-puzzle together, better to rebuild it from new flat metal or fin a doner 55-59 cab
