| | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 56 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 56 | hello, i bought a 51 burb a few months back and thought i would post a few pic,s. it seems to be a good ole truck with lots of future. it is the barn door type and has the complete interior and all the exterior parts. it is some what apart now as 2 gentlemen had started restoring it and when one passed away it was put up for sale.
the only thing i dont like is that they flush welded the rear fenders in.
i bought the trailer it is on a few months before the suburban and it has cost me a fortune, because it is so easy to just load stuff up and head home. bought a 52 coe a week before the 51 burb. the wife said she was goig to tke the wheels off the trailer and hide them..

Just don' t smack them. Double check the area where the fenders meet the body underneath. This area is prone to rust and they may have welded them in for a reason. Also check out the interior panels and make sure they did not cover up any boogers.  | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 275 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 275 | Looks like the lower section behind the wheels have been cut on the rear fenders. They should be straight but it looks to me as they are angled up.

Other than that,looks like you have a really nice Suburban. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 56 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 56 | thanks and you are right , the bottoms have been cut off. being a small world- i had looked at this burb back in 87 and it was not for sale. low and behold it showed up again 20 years later. the fenders had been bobbed way back then. i hope to be able to use the lower sections of a pick-up rear fender to repair this.

Maybe he's got some patches for the rear bottom fenders for the 'burb. I know he can make anything. You might be able to make patches from the bottoms of pick up rear fenders, but check the curve of the fender in that area. The 'burb and panel truck rear fenders are a little more flat than the pick up truck rear fenders. | | |
