The carb runs rich and I'm getting terrible mileage. The carb is a Rochester B. I'm tired of messing with this and considering a different carb. CarbKing hates "B's" and recommends the Carter YF.or the Carter W-1. Any experience with any of these carbs is appreciated. I know I can also get a rebuilt B, but an curious about the Carters. | | |

It was really easy to rebuild and worked great. If I could have found one for my 235 I would have put that on the truck in a heartbeat.

"The ABC's of carburetion- - - -Always Buy Carter!"
While that was a good advertising ploy, it was also true. Carter just made a better carburetor. Given a choice, I'll take Carter over Rochester anytime.

Anyway, I had a Rochester on my truck ... it was a real pain. So I put an Edelbrock on -- right out of the box and it's been trouble free for a year and a half.
