#42589 12/20/2003 3:10 AM | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 66 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 66 | not 100% sure, but "almost every" vehicle has a "tag" placed under one of the bolts that holds on the gear cover. It should say on it (stamed in it) what the ratio is.
the tag is probably about 1" by 1/2" made out of thin sheet metal.

The 10- bolt rear will have 10 bolts on the cover and the 12-bolt will have 12 bolts holding the cover on. This is a half ton pick-up I take it?? There should also be stamped numbers on the axle tube to one side or the other on the forward side,,, use a wire brush to look around the numbers are there. http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/zsusp.html#rearaxle
