I've just been collecting parts for my '51 chev 5 window and I was starting to wonder, is the cab on mine the same size as a 1/2 ton? Just wondering if parts are interchangable or not, and I might want to go with a 1/2 ton frame and box.

Thanks,
Sean

cabs are the same from 1/2 ton to large trucks except for cabover. Frames are very different but cab from a larger one will fit it.

Thanks a lot, I was just thinking a 1 ton might be too long to drive around the city in. Especially for my Wife that wants it as hers. This way I don't have to justify parts!!

Are the front fender wheel openings a different size on the 1 ton?

Front fenders on a 1 ton are identical to 3/4 and 1/2 ton.

Front fenders on 1.5 and 2 ton are identical. They are bigger than the small truck fenders.
