Found another problem
The truck came with a drive shaft yoke with a 26 splines.
The trans has 16 splines

when chev stop using the 16 spline and switch to the 26 spline on the yoke and tailpiece?
I might have to have a drive shaft built

you can find a coarse yoke to fit the trans [change it yourself, doesn't have to be "built"] or you can find a later all-syncro trans to suit the driveshaft, bolts right in

the trans you'd need would be 68 up truck 3 speed, I've used them in all my trucks and prefer'em - probably that's the year the standard spline count changed
